Fr. Hilary Adoson B.Th. M.Th.

Fr Hilary Adoson is married and a private teacher helping students who get difficulties in their lessons. Before Covid 19 he used to teach them at their homes but now mostly online. He serves in Sidoarjo, a suburb of Surabaya.

Ordained in Surabaya 8th September 1998 by Mgr. Johanes Hadiwikarta, he incardinated into OCAC in November 2023. He gained a Baccalaureate in Philosophy and Theology at The Faculty of Philosophy and Theology “Widya Sasana” at Malang in 1993 and Master of Systematic Theology in 1998.
Fr Hilary leads a workers chaplaincy and members of his group mostly work as drivers, domestic helpers, street vendors, factory workers.  He gives spiritual guidance, holds weekly prayer and at the end of each year, gives a retreat and reflection on their Christian spiritual life and together they do some charity work.

There are about 8 million Catholics of the 278 million people in Indonesia as most are Muslim. Fr Hilary cares about the spiritual life of the abandoned people. "Jesus should be present among them" he says.
